We refer to the announcements dated 9 March 2018, 15 March 2018, 24 April 2018, 22 May 2018, 23 May 2018, 30 May 2018, 8 June 2018 and 26 June 2018, as well as the circular dated 11 June 2018 in relation to the Proposed Special Issue (“Circular”). Unless otherwise defined, capitalised terms used in this announcement have the same meanings as those given to them in the Circular.

On behalf of the Board, Hong Leong Investment Bank Berhad wishes to announce that the Securities Commission Malaysia had vide its letter dated 17 June 2019 informed that Hiap Huat is deemed to have complied with the Bumiputera Equity Condition after taking note of the following:

(i) MITI on 26 October 2018, had allocated 42,200,000 Special Issue Shares to 97 interested Bumiputera investors;

(ii) Of that allocation, only 10 out of 97 interested Bumiputera investors had submitted their letter of acceptance in relation to MITI’s allocation for the Special Issue Shares. Subsequently, none of the interested Bumiputera investors had subscribed for the Special Issue Shares; and

(iii) MITI, vide its letter dated 30 April 2019, had informed Hong Leong Investment Bank Berhad that MITI had exhausted all efforts in assisting Hiap Huat in complying the Bumiputera equity condition.

Hence, the Special Issue is deemed completed.
